Artwork Requirements

Every successful promotional product, branded apparel item, or corporate gift begins with high-quality artwork. Whether you are starting with a simple concept or already have an established logo, quality artwork is essential to achieving the best possible finished product.

If you have existing artwork, our team can review and prepare it for production. If you are starting from scratch, our experienced graphic designers can create a custom design or refine your current logo to ensure it is optimized for printing, embroidery, engraving, and other decoration methods.

Vector Artwork

Vector artwork is the preferred file format for most promotional products and apparel decoration projects. Unlike standard image files such as JPGs or PNGs, vector graphics are created using mathematical paths, lines, curves, and shapes rather than pixels.

Because vector artwork can be scaled to any size without losing clarity or quality, it produces crisp, professional results whether your logo is being printed on a pen, embroidered on a polo shirt, or displayed on a large banner. Common vector file formats include AI, EPS, and vector PDF files.

If you do not have vector artwork available, our design team can often recreate your logo or artwork and prepare it for production. This helps ensure your brand is reproduced accurately and consistently across all of your promotional products and apparel.

Colors

All colors in vectored artwork should be submitted as PMS or CMYK. For more information on colors click here.

High Quality Images

If you have original, high quality digital files available, the staff at NGA Promotions™ can create the final art that will be used for printing your job more quickly and affordably. Images that are downloaded from the Web are ‘low-resolution’ images. When adjusted for size they most often downgrade, leaving ragged edges that will translate to your finished piece.

Here are our recommendations to insure you receive the best results:
  • Original files are always a better starting point than printed or copied versions.
  • If you have logos or illustrations in vector format, Great!
  • Whenever possible, send us a version of your artwork in its original format, as well as a flattened version in PDF, with all objects converted to lines or curves.
  • Please submit the font file(s) with your artwork.
  • If you are sending a bitmap file, ensure it is 300 DPI and sized as closely to the actual final print size as possible.
  • If your original art features layers, please keep the layered format intact when sending.
  • Clean designs are best when printing on different materials like fabric or any texture. This means that effects like drop shadows, bevels or photo vignettes should be avoided.
  • If your design features elements that overlap, send us the design in two versions if possible: one that shows the composited design and one that provides us with the design’s separate layers.
  • Please be sure that you are not infringing on anyone else’s copyright when selecting or creating your artwork for your promotional products.
  • We’ll be happy to evaluate your artwork prior to providing you with a customization quote. We also offer design services to help bring your ideas to life.

If you are unsure about your artwork feel free so send us what you have. Alternatively, you can reach out to the designer who created the artwork for you and request a vectored copy with colors converted to CMYK or PMS.

Please note that saving a low resolution photo as a .pdf or .eps does not change the properties of the

file and it will not be suitable for production.
